ReDesign for Sustainability – "Experiencing" a Smart Journey in Formosa
The Talent Cultivation Program for Smart Living Industry is delighted to announce that the "2012 Asian Smart Living International School" will be held from October 10-14, 2012 in Taiwan. Participants are expected to focus on international issues of smart living to promote and enhance the development of the field of smart living in Asia.

The main focus of this International School will be "Redesign for Sustainability." The living labs chosen for this year are three small communities with own traditional industries. They are facing different problems during the revolution from past to the future. Participants will spend time exploring the three living labs so they will be able to observe, experience, and learn about the environment, history, culture, and industrial development background. They will also be given opportunities to interact with local residents and masters in the fields of traditional industries. Moreover, participants will also be given the opportunity to assess the actual needs, resources, and goals of the communities to create new ideas, such as innovation of new craft materials, fine-tuning end products, improvement of the touring flow, or the quality of software and hardware of the environment. The main goal of "2012 Asian Smart Living International School" is to generate usable, useful and desirable concepts to help the communities in developing practical, meaningful, and sustainable smart-living lifestyles through a 5-day live learning workshop.
